World Champions, Deirdre Byrne (Gold Medal Winner 2013) and Eddie Rudzinskas (Silver Medal Winner 2014) made a visit to culinary students at the Dublin Institute of Technology .

The visit was organised by Mike J. O’Connor, Assistant Head, School of Culinary Arts & Food Technology, Dublin Institute of Technology following Ireland’s success at the World Cocktail Championship in Cape Town, South Africa last month where Rudzinskas won a Silver Medal with his cocktail called ‘Molly Mia’.While last years Gold Medal Winner, Ms. Deirdre Byrne demonstrated to the students how to prepare her award winning cocktail called ‘Angel Fruit’.Also present was Oliver Murtagh, Chairman of the Irish Guild of Sommeliers accompanied by Andrew O’Gorman, Honorary Life Member of both the Irish Guild of Sommeliers and the Bartenders Association of Ireland.

The National Hospitality Student Cocktail Challenge and National Cocktail Competition will take place at CATEX, RDS, Dublin, 17th -19th February 2015 and will be sponsored by Edward Dillon and Co. Ltd
